Afternoon with Kat Lieu

Join us for an Afternoon with Kat Lieu, best-selling cookbook author, advocate, TED speaker, and Founder of "Subtle Asian Baking" community. Kat will have multiple cookie samples for each guest to taste and Vivilore will serve Asian-inspired teas. There will be a book signing, her latest cookbook (108 Asian Cookies) for purchase, and dialogue about using Asian flavors and ingredients in baking. Mid-Continent Public Library and Vivilore are partnering to bring Kat here from Seattle as a Lunar New Year event. We are eager to come together, discuss, and learn more about Asian Baking and the stories/culture behind it.

TICKET PRICES ARE $30 for GENERAL PUBLIC, and $24 for MCPL LIBRARY LOVERS. Purchases will be verified, so do not purchase Library Lover tickets unless you are a member, or you risk forfeiting your tickets. Booking link.

KC Restaurant Week

Jan 9-18 is Kansas City Restaurant Week. Vivilore will participate on our normal days open (Wed-Sat only). Partial proceeds support 3 local charities in Kansas City. We will have a special lunch menu and a special dinner menu, DIFFERENT than our regular menu. There will be no regular Vivilore menus. The KCRW menus will be the only menus offered during this time period, with no substitutions please. Our regular menu resumes Jan 21. Thank you; we look forward to serving you!

Fall Tea Time

Fall is here and Tea Time is back! Saturday, Sept 13, 2025, 11:30am. $55 per person, plus tax & gratuity, due at the end of Tea Time. Ticket includes individual lunch plate TBA. For the table, a 3-tiered tray of mini sandwiches, scones with house-made jam and butter, & macarons from Sugarfold. Two tea options per table. Each table seats 8 persons max. Smaller parties will be combined to fill tables.

Join us for the biggest celebration in East Asian culture, as we welcome the Year of the Snake! $80 (plus 9.37% tax) Hot Pot Dinner at The Mandarin Event Space to celebrate Lunar New Year. A meal brought to you by Chef James Chang, hosted at Vivilore's event space. Ticket price includes: 3 proteins, 5 veggies, assorted meatballs, noodles, sauce bar with James Chang chili crunch, a low ABV cocktail (or mocktail), red envelopes with a little surprise inside, and more! Join us for a fun night celebrating the fall harvest! Moon Festival, also known as Mid-Autumn Festival, is one of the major holidays celebrated by many Asian cultures. It's a great kick-off to the fall season and should be a full moon!

For DINNER ONLY, Chef James Chang will be collaborating w/Vivilore on a special menu featuring Taiwanese flavors. We will NOT have our regular dinner menu. It is all going to be delicious! Menu will be shared soon. Inside The Mandarin, we have Asian-owned vendors popping up with everything from sourdough doughnuts and Vietnamese coffee, to shirts, cute glass tumblers, and more sweet treats. We will also have GOCHEW food truck outside!

11:30am seating for Tea Time in The Mandarin, our event space. Cost is $45 per person, plus tax & gratuity. While $45 is due at booking, tax + gratuity will be collected at the conclusion of Tea Time. Ticket includes individually-plated quiche, salad, & fresh fruit. For the table, a 3-tiered tray of mini sandwiches, biscuits w/homemade jam, & dessert bites. Two tea options per table. Due to the nature of this “shared table” event, we regret to inform that we are unable to make food substitutions.

Make your reservations online. Please note, the $45 (“deposit”) must be paid within 24 hours of booking, or your reservation will be automatically cancelled, forfeiting your place at Tea Time.

Asian Fusion Brunch AND Heritage Market

"American brunch with an Asian twist": This is our special brunch for AANHPI (Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander) Heritage Month, ONLY on May 25th, 10am-3pm. Get your reservations in to try something different, or maybe some flavors you already know & love. Due to the special ingredients and nature of this special menu, modifications cannot be made. In our event space next door, we will simultaneously be having a Heritage Market Day w/7 vendors from 11am-3pm! Vendors include Asian-woman owned small businesses selling treats, desserts, Vietnamese coffee, chili oil, hair accessories, and tumbler cups. Note: We have traditionally never even been open Memorial Day weekend, so this is something fun we wanted to try for one brunch to celebrate AANHPI Heritage Month. We hope you'll join us!

Vivilore’s event space is being rebranded! Formerly known as the Swan Dive, it will be hereby be called "The Mandarin” (at Vivilore). To celebrate this rebranding, guests can expect a beautiful mural on the side of the building, very soon. Additionally, we will be hosting a themed, 4-course dinner with partial proceeds going towards the mural. This is a very special meal with limited seating! The 4-course dinner will be called "Taste of The Mandarin,” featuring oranges in each course, along with a Signature Cocktail.
